We are warm and in Winnamucca, NV! Day one of preparing to be back in record AZ heat! What the heck!
We made the drive from our lovely ranch home to a home in a very nice RV park behind the casino!
We spent 3.49 on a bag of ice. Neither one of us are gamblers. I'm just damn cheap! We had a great afternoon in the sun and shade watching people head to play. Kinda fun to watch all the big rigs pull in. Sometimes it's downright entertaining. At the beach we watched a guy pull in with his shiny new red truck and huge new 5th wheel. Parked was going about his business. Next thing we saw was that 5th wheel doing the high jump and bouncing all around. We later found out he had not undone the hitch correctly and dropped the trailer on the bed rail of his new truck. It needs some major repairs! Never a dull moment, people to watch, stories to make up. We have fun.
Today we traveled the lonesome back road to Nevada. It's the ones that say next gas 100 miles! We filled up and drove through our final treed destination. Maybe Northern AZ will have a few. It was very pretty eith pines and Aspen trees that had started the fall color change. We climbed a few hills and passes. We passed a total of 19 cars in 150 miles. Had the road to ourselves. That can be good and also a bit daunting. We made it to Denio! There's a place I never wanted to be again. It's got gas and a potty. Had to stop. Bad memory place. But have to say much cleaner than the last time I was there!
We made our way south towards Winnamucca. Not much to see for 81 miles, sage brush and open range road. It had watch for horses, donkeys and finally Bulls that looked like the were pooping. We never did see a bull,we did see plenty cattle. The sign cracked us up. We needed something to look at on the boring drive. We made it to the campground. Filled up with gas and bought ice. Big exciting night. Skipbo will be in our future and some tunes.
More in last night. Our neighbors turned off the lights about 10:30....and we saw the wonders of the Northern lights. We had hoped this whole trip we would see them. We finally had an amazing show. We stayed up way to late, but it was worth it.
It was a cool night and we slept great.
Hope we can say the same for tonight.
Continue to pray for our country and those effected by the hurricanes.
Hug your family and make that phone call.
Blessings.
