We traveled back roads to Salt Lake City last Friday. It was a beautiful drive. We saw desert, beautiful cliffs and mountains. The in to valleys of farming and Gypsum mining.
We left Bryce and drive into what seemed the Flatlands to find when went around the corner a beautiful green valley lined with cliffs. A small running creek and horses! Not many houses but very spread out ranches.
It was a beautiful drive. Had to pass a couple old Granny's and a old farmer.
We headed up through Provo all on the back roads. And had to do about 10 miles on I 15.
We arrived safe and sound to my cousins house. Julene had a great spot for us and we hooked up to water and electricity. It was warm there. We blew the fuse so had to do some creative tasks to get electric from her shop.
She is the Owner & President of Summit machine. I have to say what a hard worker and expert machinist. They do mainly off road after market parts on the high end. But it amazes me the crazy things they do too. Like end caps for street rollers and special brackets etc.
Had a great Tri Tip dinner complete with funeral potatoes. If you know Utah you know that's a staple.
Saturday found Dave watching all the college football he could find. I went with Judy to get a pedicure, lunch and a little grocery run. We all gathered at Judy's for pizza and Salad. Nice night.
Sunday we rested and Dave was a bit under the weather, he napped. You know he didn't feel well as no football was on!
We went to Judy's for dinner and joined bungee sisters Jeanne and Jackie and cousin Erik. We had a fun time teaching them Skipbo. Yes Dave won the first game!
We came with clean laundry too!
Monday was a catch up on life day. We had some things to take care of. You know bills find you no matter where you hide. I needed a wander through Hammond, a local grocery store. Found a few things I had to have!
Nice to go into a nice clean and well stocked store. I'll update you on the chili mango gummies I bought when we open them!
Oh and we had Sconed the Utah was delivered to the campground. Best campground ever!
