July 11 & 12

As we draw near the end of our trip and head home we found ourselves dragging feet to get home. We have had an amazing trip and hate to see it come to an end..we took the opportunity to spend two nights off the grid dry camping.

We made our way to the Mogollan (mo-go-yawn) Rim. New to me, Dave wanted to share one of his favorite places. It runs 200 miles from the Sedona AZ to New Mexico. A 2000 feet beautiful cliff ridge. Treed and lovely sculptured granite cliffs.

We made our way down several dirt, ok Rocky roads to the edge of a cliff. Stunning! Such a beautiful place. We found a beautiful place to camp and traversed the rocky terrain to find a venue right in the edge. We set up and got out the camp chairs. We had cooler temps and enjoyed a few sprinkles and nice breeze. Dave read, I crocheted. Just nice time together and chance to unwind from an Epic trip.

Dave grilled yummy burgers and the Skipbo challenge continued. I won 3 of three. The table is turning,!

Friday we slept in. It was nice and cool. We headed to Strawberry and Pine. Beautiful drive and both cute little towns. Both obviously driven by tourists. So many cute shops and restaurants. We could have a great weekend there.

We did our usual exploring on roads we find. Saw some crazy things.o think the most bizarre was a Zebra! Yes s real live Zebra. Then we passed an Elk in our way done a road, still there when we can back. He was right on the side of the road. Just munching away and posing for pictures.

We had a nice afternoon. It got a little warmer so we turned on the generator. We really needed to test it. Everything worked like a charm. We had a late afternoon rain and hail storm. It actually lasted for a few hours. The wind later picked up and rocked us to sleep. Ok Dave to sleep. Me not so much! But it was nice and cool..

Saturday morning found us packing up and headed home. Uneventful drive home. 106 welcomed us home at 2pm.
