We have had another great week. We had a couple days in Florence Or. Beautiful sea side town. We ventured to a drive up the beach. It was so deep and had a road part way through the beach we walked in the cool wind and then back to the camper. We saw so many huge trees that were so weathered by the sea and wind. They become great pieces of art created by nature.

We enjoyed the downtown and it's character. The beautiful flowers hung on the streetlight. Charming. We had a late lunch at Mo's on the water. Watched the ships and and had great fresh shrimp and cod. It was great.

We just had a relaxing wonderful time. We headed inland to Sutherlin, OR to stay a few days with Uncle Dick. He has a beautiful home he built a few years ago. He has a place set up for our trailer. We had a great dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. And of course a visit with him included No Mercy Marbles. You know he built my set. We had a great time. Wednesday found us enjoying breakfast on the deck and a trip to the local covered bridge and vineyards. We headed to Roseburg to Sherms Thunderbird, a local Oregon grocery store. Fond memories going there with Dick and Jerry, they have an old fashioned ice cream counter at the front when you leave. Where else can three of us get ice cream, yes double scoops for under $8. They serve the local Umpqua ice cream. It is so good. Yes I had huckleberry! Dave sure enjoyed it too.

I cooked chicken and noodles for dinner with fresh biscuits. We played Skipbo. I'm still loosing!

Thursday Uncle Dick had his usual golf game with the guys. They won!

Dave and I headed to Eugene to visit my dear friends Sherre and Dan. They left Colorado 4 years ago and it was nice to catch up. We were blessed to be in their beautiful home and be treated to lunch on the river. Thank you for being our friends. They were happy to have the first visit from the Colorado group.

We had a great day ending with birthday dinner out and cake and ice cream a week early for Uncle Dick. Have to celebrate 87!!! He caught on to Skipbo and beat us both!

Of course we would be amiss not to mention Bo! The dog I got for Uncle Dick three years ago. He is such a great companion for him and a bit spoiled. All in all a great visit.

Friday found us traveling to Brookings, OR. We are back roads people. I think my navigation skills might be questionable. We got on a pretty narrow farm road with twist and turns like a slinky! The scenery was stunning and Dave did great driving us through the maze!

We stayed right on the bay at the harbour in a RV park that was on a beautiful beach. There were nice ramps down to the sand from the boardwalk. We had a boat slip right behind us. Marvelous place. We walked on the beach daily. We collected rocks and driftwood. No shells. I got my feet in the water each day. Happy girl. It was a nice board walk all along the beach. Great people watching. Yes Oregon has some interesting characters! It was fun to watch the kids get absolutely full of sand and just love it. The weather was fantastic, warm sun and no fog all three days! I got a little color. So many people enjoying the beautiful beach. But it never felt crowded.

Saturday as Dave watched football and I worked on my project we were drawn to the outside by sirens and horns.....what in Oregon a Trump parade! Cars and trucks with flags and signs for Trump. For about 15 minutes they paraded down the board walk and through the slips. It was a great sight. Fun, and they came back by about an hour later. We were so excited to be in a town with fried chicken, KFC had to come home with us. Good food for a football Saturday!

Sunday we headed to the Redwoods. We did our own thing. So amazing they are. Massive trunks and tallest trees ever. I had seen them before. Dave was in awe. The drive down the beach was hilly and stunning. We took a few little side trips and found some great views.

Monday we had to tear ourselves away from the bay at Brookings. We headed to Klamath falls via Grants pass. Little did we know the road would be another slinky road, but this time through the mountains. It was a steep river gorge with redwoods to start that moved into pines and Aspen trees. The colors were beautiful. We had only seen oak and maples so far. Oregon has lots of volcanic rock. We drove through several volcanic rock slides. We drove by Crater lake. The campground at the military base was first come first serve, it was full. We worked our way through a few more with no luck. Made for a long day.

As usual God has a plan we are camped at Juniper Ranch. A 20000 acre working cattle ranch. They have a small campground with all the amenities. We are on the non-hunter side! Talk about out in the middle of nowhere. We drove 61 miles from the last little town, ok a had station and two houses! And it's another 59 to the next bump in the road. No light pollution at all out here. The stars are bright and clear. Then the one thing we hoped to see this trip presented itself....the northern lights. We could see them better with the phone. Our neighbors had outside lights on. We hope they turn them off soon!

We will need to Winnamucca NV tomorrow.

We continue to see how people truly live and know the blessings we have.

The dog with the Mohawk was at the one lone gas station after Klamath. An interesting town to say the least.

We continue to pray for our country facing the hurricanes once again. We have friends and family who have lost so much already. Please pray for our country right now!

Blessings to you all.
